Hi Steve, that's what I thought and why I've left them sitting....lonely, un-listened to. :)
I had a heckuva time wasting money listing old 78's of great hits from the olden days...same kind of thing. I was just hoping that perhaps some people were getting nostalgic for the "good ole days" of my parent's era.
I'll look and see if there are any exceptional ones. I, as a music lover, do think a lot of records are exceptional, but I wouldn't buy them-ha ha.

Pam- those boxed record sets aren't usually worth much unless they're something really unusual. Most are Readers Digest, Time Life or the equivalent. There are exceptions but they're rare and not found in the average music collection. Feel free to email me with any box titles you believe are exceptional and I will let you know. -Steve

Hey, mornin! Does anyone know any collectors of box sets of waltzes, tangos, classical albums? I've got about 8 big box sets and haven't tried to sell them yet. I have a big console stereo and I thought the needle on the turntable was fine but now it seems to be broken...I always hate needles, never have figured out how to change them(all these years I always had a brother or boyfriend or husband to change em)
I'm wondering if I should Definitely play all the records before listing them? I know that it greatly devalues a lot of the average records if I can't say they are skip free...
My kids have a turntable but it's a fairly cheapy one and they didn't grow up with records so they really aren't good at playing them....worried that they'd scratch em. :) Kids these days.... LOL

Hello Renegade,
I do have some records in my booth, not that one, but if you would take a peek, and note the list, if any avid collector is looking you may certainly send them my way. I will also do the same for you. I do know Howlingwolf324 has a bevy of unlisted and listed albums, so your craigs list person may want to check with her. She does have some pink floyd...not sure of specific ones, but take a look.
Good luck to you

As I have posted in my Blog http://rantsravesrenagade.blogspot.com/ I am going to streamline my booth to mainly music and biker. I will be adding more vinyl hopefully every day until I have EVERY piece up for sale. Hope you vinyl lovers keep me in mind when looking!

Now I am asking for your help here...well really, lets help eaach other out. If someone asks you about a record you dont have, how about helping your customer out by checking with the other Bonanzle record sellers and referring them over? I just had a Craiglist request, and unfortunatly, no one one bonanzle had it either(actually couldnt find it anywhere on web) (Pink Floyd's Meddle ..very scarce!) But the point is, if another Bonanzler had it, I was going to send link to item then contact booth owner to let them know. I have done this on past sites and It is a win-win situation for all. Well?? What is you take on this? Can the Record sellers network alittle?

Hello all,
I have come across some Rare records, and have listed them in my booth. I looked up values on these, and listed just under or the same as what I found on the internet. I have never been into music collecting, and the ones I have were my mothers and fathers. I am curious to have an avid collector take a peek, and tell me honestly what they think.
All but three of these are unopened, and shrink wrapped. They also all came in the same box, form the same company in Bedford Mass.
Company name is BASF .
Thank you to anyone who can give an honest opinion. I know very little of rare items in this area.

Hi. I just joined the group and since this is the first thread I stumbled across, I just thought I'd chime in with my opinion. I've been a music and collector (LPs, CDs) for many years, some 45s and 78s too. As for told vinyl, most used items aren't worth a whole lot, but occasionally you do find some gems. You should be looking for odd items - MONO LPs always get a second glance from me. Certain groups or artists (and not the popular ones you might think) who may not have sold much "back in the day" can very much in demand now. "Weird Genres" tend to be my specialty too, and some buyers will pay A LOT for certain regional or DIY releases. Certain album covers(cheesecake, variants, etc.), singles with picture sleeves or groups with cult followings (not masses of fans) can fetch a hefty price. I've noticed that most people tend to overprice vinyl. It's only worth what a buyer is willing to pay for it. I've sold records for a dollar, and I've sold records for five hundred dollars. (That doesn't include signed, or "extras" that a whole 'nother deal.) It is all what the buyer is willing to pay for it. You can read about it in Goldmine, but like Overstreet for comics, it's only a rough guide. The street determines the price. I perk up when I find non-mainstream '60s psychedelic, obscure progressive rock, electronic music LPs, scarce soundtracks and a lot of other peculiar items that your average music consumer wouldn't give a second glance. Not every album has to be on par with a Beatles "Yesterday & Today" Butcher cover to turn a good buck. There is money to be made in some of the strangest places.
