Sorry for the delay in replying Pacesetter. I also think that it resembles Calif. pottery. I had searched Parker USA and came up with the pen maker. Which this piece is a desk set/pen holder. I could not find anything similar to this piece anywhere.the pens aren't marked as Parker, but I assume they are. They appear to be the original pens to go with the set.
I thought it may possibly be a piece made by Calif. for the Parker USA pen company?
I may just try and contact one of the Parker collectors and see if they would be willing to help me solve this!
Thanks for the infomation......

Hi MaryJo, I would think that you would call it art pottery...1950's or 60's. Reminds me of California USA pottery (which includes many different makers). I suppose it may be 1940's but looks more 50's /60's. It looks very nicely made and a bit like dripware or splatterware-can't really tell. If you search Parker USA, you will most likely find some pieces to sort of compare. I honestly haven't had a lot of success selling California/USA pottery for a few years...maybe you'll find more luck than I. I love it and collected quite a bit over the years.

I would like some help please. (I finally figured out how to get a pic on :) ). Anyway, I have this neat desk set by Parker USA. It is a ceramic pen holder with a place in front for paper clips and the like.
It is stamped PARKER USA on the bottom. Both pens are in working condition.
I want to get it listed, but need as much info as possible. Can anyone give me an approximate age and value?
Thanks so much!

Wow! That is amazing you have possessions from that far back in your family tree, I only have a teapot of my great aunt from the turn of the century (not the latest one LOL), and the only known picture of my Great-Grandfather that lived to be 99.
Yes, I remember by the time girls were married they would have a Hope Chest full of handmade linens. Wonder if it's too late for my youngest to start! Can you imagine expecting that of children today?

Wonder if Auction Wally would help as a freebie?

Yes, I would like to sell it but need more information to give to buyers. It was owned by the same person (my great-great-grandmother) who did the embroidery SAMPLER that I showed in the Linen group.
Here is a close-up of the date on the Sampler. She made this when she was a young girl. Probaby between the ages of 12 -16. It was common for young girls to make a "sampler" showing their expertise in sewing or embroidery.
So,, I am guessing that she had this vase as a young married lady. Problably around 1850 when my Great-Grandma Anna was born.

Shar, this is not my area of expertise, but it's gorgeous! You're not going to part with it are you?

Identify This: I have been trying to identify this vase for many years. It is a family heirloom and dates as far back to the early 1800's or maybe earlier.
I have tried to identify the mark but it is very smudged. Someone on Bonanzle suggested that it might be Czech but that doesn't match either.
My Great Grandmother lived in Germany. My Grandmother was born in Sault Saint Lorriane, France ( but actually spoke German and lived in Germany)I am thinking that it might be Austian since they had a lot of Austrian china, etc.
Some think it is early CapoDiMonte.
Any comments or help would be appreciated.

Just wanted to let everyone know that we have set up a new group for antiques/vintage business intelligence on Bonanzle.

It's a closed group so we can protect info but any antiques/vintage seller is invited to join. We'll be sharing information like page views, sales information, google analytics data to gauge our personal performance on the site. Check it out here http://bonanzle.ning.com/group/antiquevintagebusinessgroup.
