The Bonanzler's Network

Buyers and Sellers of Everything but the Ordinary

I know a lot of people list things on muti venues, but I've avoided that simply because of the upkeep. BUT........with sales soooooooooo slow and nothing moving here on Bonanzle, I'm going to try multi listing...........by that, I mean listing the very same item on multi venues.

Does anyone here have success with that? And do you price differently for different venues?

Help a poor starving seller out............LOL, share your insight.

I left the bay completely, I have sold on Cyberattic for almost 3 years now. Sales are slow but consistent at both Cyberattic and at Bonanzle. My items are totally different and since I do collectibles, antiques, depression and carnival glass, I would be in a world of hurt if I sold something at the same time. I do not have duplicates of hardly anything. I am happy with both venues and expect both selling sites to pick up considerably in the fall.

Hi Karen.

I'll make a suggestion if you don't mind. :-)

I see you are struggling with multiple venues.

A very simple webstore to create can be had for very little using something like Hostgator.com to host a wordpress blog.
You can install and modify Wordpress quite simply, and there is lots of help on the net for this.
One of the free add-ons is an e-commerce plug-in which allows you to add a shopping cart with paypal or google checkout (or even merchant account if you are up to it).

It is a great option to actually create your OWN website now, for low cost, and build up over time. You can learn the SEO stuff later.

A nice method is to use the wordrpress blog to FEED in your current ebay or bonanzle items. Examples of sites doing this are vintagemeld.com or greenspot.ning.com (see LINKS menu). This allows you to start quick, full of items, and slowly get comfy with the system over time.

At the end of this, you will have a webstore you OWN, can direct any readers TO your items on ebay, bonanzle, or your own items for sale. HERE you dictate the policies, payments, and how you run your store, no rules from outside.

I think you'll find this option available on many hosting sites from about $8.95/month or so. the software is free, the add-ons are free, and since your work is free (on any site promoting OTHER venues sales) but at least you get to keep it all for future growth.

HTHelps.

I started on ebay and am still there. I list on Bonanzle and Etsy also. I have most of my items on both ebay and Bonanzle with a few items on bonanzle that I know won't sell on ebay. I only list items that I can make duplicates on Etsy. Etsy mainly has my cancer awareness jewelry there and some medical bracelets.

As for sales, ebay is the only sure source for me. My sales have dropped there but I still get sales weekly so I have to stay there. I have only had a few sales on Bonanzle, 1 or 3 a month. I have only had one on Etsy since I opened it in March.

I believe with the economy the way it is that the more people you can reach the more sales you are likely to get. Since I do make my own jewelry most of my items can be duplicated so I do not worry too much about the selling an item twice. But this happened to my on ebay. An item was relisted because I had originally set it up with multiple quantity and it relisted when I sold the last one. But the customer was very understanding and ended up buying more. So it worked out fine.

As for pricing, I keep everything the same. But if I have a customer wanting to purchase a lot of items or asking for a discount for a large order I send them to Bonanzle. Since the fees are less I can offer them a discount and still make the same profit as ebay but my customers think they are getting a better deal. I have also sent discount coupons with ebay orders for Bonanzle to drive more customers there.

Hope this helps.

I list on Bonanzle, Blujay and Ecrater. I also have my items in my flea market booth...so if I sell anything I make sure that I take it off my other sites and out of my flea market booth right away. I price my online items all the same, less confusing, and price my flea market booth items a little differently, people like to bargain with you at the flea market, so you have to price for bargaining room.

I was thinking of doing another venue also. I may have to go back to ebay, perish the thought. But I will try another place and see how that goes.
