The Bonanzler's Network

Buyers and Sellers of Everything but the Ordinary

I wonder if this has happened to anyone else . . . Three or four times this month, I've received an "Otto" notification that someone had included one of my items had been included in their Hand Picked List. When I'd go to check and thank the person for including me, none of my items is there.

Just wondering if it's happened to anyone else.

No, anytime I've gone in to check, my item was always there.

That must be frustrating.

What's frustrating to me is the same people get their hand-picked lists picked to be featured on the home page over and over again.

Whether or not the lists help sales... that would be interesting to know. I do know that on the lists I've put together, items keep selling... so, I've learned to always add 'extra' items that fill in when other items sell.

You're right . . . most frustrating when your item is not there. I didn't think you could add additional items (for standby when something sells). I always seem to be cut off at 20 I think.

And YES, it would be great to see ALL HPLs cycle through before one is repeated. I understand the larger box for paying listers, but the HPLs seems to cycle through 4 or 5 and that's it.

Thanks for answering.

Hi there, yes I've had this happen to me and I've had it happen that someone whose item I picked to be on a hand picked list ask me why they were notified but nothing of theirs was showing. What happens is that when you're making a hand picked list you can stop at just 15 or 20 to make it eligible for the Home Page or you can continue with more picks so that your list doesn't become ineligible if an item sells. So check back because many times an item on the hand picked list sells and then another in reserve will automatically move in to the open space. My problem is that I usually have so many picks that it's hard to quit choosing. I don't recall if there is a specific number limit in picking items for a hand picked list, but if you're curious just make a list. It's lot's of fun and you can find some really nifty things along the way.

Hope this helps,
Zig

Hi, Zig.

Thanks for responding. Someone else had suggested the same thing you did. I'm going to give it a try. I just always thought that 20 items was the maximum that could be selected. Don't know where I got that idea. Come visit.

20 is the maxium number of items that will show up but additional items can be selected. I always select additional items because if one of the original 20 gets sold or deleted the list will go inactive if 20 items are not on it. So if you go to visit the list and your item isn't showing, it just means it was added after the first 20 and will get moved up if any of the others are removed or sold.

Hope that helps!

Thanx, Treasures. With the help of others, I finally figured it out, so now I add up to 25 per list. I still don't understand why the same 4 to 6 lists rotate for days at a time. You'd think it would be simple enough to rotate them in order (say 1 through 100 or whatever) and then start over. That everybody gets a shot at the home page at some point . . . maybe 3 AM, but you've had your shot.

Hi - this has happened to me at least twice in the last couple of months.

Hi, Denice. Happy New Year. It took awhile, but it finally got through to me. 20-items is the maximum number shown, but if an item sells, then another item replaces it. What I do these days, is pick about 23-25 items just to have spares. Unfortunately the HPLs haven't helped me, but they've helped other people. I even had one of my HPLs make the home page which was exciting. Good sales.
