As we all know, Ning, the service provider platform that hosts The Bonanzler's Network will no longer offer a free version as of July 2010. We will either need to migrate to the $20 a month service ... or cease to exist.

Now, $20 a month is not a big deal, but I’m not inclined to personally fund the site, realizing that I am not currently giving it all the attention it deserves.

So, I am open to ideas, as always, from our members. I do think, and somewhat to my surprise, that we still have something unique here. If my job did not take 110% of my time and attention, I’m sure I could grow TBN into an even more vital community.

One ideas that has been put forward is:

We can buy a year of service from Ning for $200 (a decent savings off the $20 a month price). If we can find 10 people (including me) to kick in $20 each, all 10 would become "owners" and full administrators. Every year, as people from the owner’s group decline to renew, we would invite new people to join the owner’s group.

Of course, legal issues could arise (although somewhat unlikely). If the legalities are simply too complicated I and others won’t want to go down that path, but surely there are folks here who know how we could do this easily, and perhaps even have simple agreement templates on file that would work?

Finally, if someone out there has a vision for what TBN could be with an infusion of time and talent, a vision not too far from what I had in mind when I first created the network (back when I had lots more time), I would consider offers. What kind of offers? I don’t know. Make one and I’ll let you know.

So, the clock is ticking folks.

Hi folks....

I've decided to stop monitoring photo submissions and ask each member to self-monitor their uploads. The new rule is as follows:

• Please do not upload more than 6 photos per day to your Public Album. Let's allow everyone their "15 minutes of fame" on the Home Page Slide Show.
• Please keep your image file size below 1 MB
• Bonanzle Only •• Tag •• Title •• Link •• your photos so that viewers can find your Bonanzle booth.. and the items you have for sale.

At the recommendation of one of our members we are also allowing you to upload your Avatars and Banners... but again, please link them to your Bonanzle booth.

Needless to say violators of the 6 photos per day rule, or those who upload inappropriate photos will be warned once. On the second instance they will be removed from the Network.
